Best practices in social sector: a compendium 2023

The social sector is an important sector in India and includes several important components such as education, health and medical care, drinking water and sanitation, social security, environment, food and nutrition security, women and child development, livelihoods and skill development, etc. that play a vital role in human development. This compendium provides specific, innovative best practices sourced from States/UTs and selected Ministries/ Departments. As India is celebrating 75 years of Independence, 75 best practices have been selected for this volume. Efforts have been made so that cases are best distributed across States and sectors. The aim is to highlight models which are innovative, sustainable, replicable, and impactful and also synthesize lessons for the future to expand quality of life at the grassroots level. This will be a resourceful document for not just highlighting the good practices in place but will also serve as a handbook for replicability and scale-up
