The report reviews recent developments in fast-charging technology and also the amount and distribution across major electric vehicle markets. The study also summarizes research into the impacts on the electric grid under increasing electric vehicle demand, and approaches to mitigate any associated issues. The study also review planning issues related to fast-charging station use and siting strategies, as well as cost and business cases for the deployment of fast-charging stations. Based on this review, we make several conclusions and present several associated policy implications.
